Matala Crete

The beautiful village of Matala is a small traditional village, situated in the middle of Crete, on the south coast of the island of Crete, which has been known to have the best climate zone.

Matala is 70km far from the famous city of Heraklion and 12km far from the ancient ruins of Festos.
The sandy beach of Matala stands out for it’s crystal clear water (every year it’s been awarded with the blue flag by the Greek Organization of Tourism for crystal water) and it’s globally known for it’s caves with archeological value, known from the decade of the 60’-70’ the area of the hippies.

Close to the beach of Matala, in a distance of approximately 50 meters, there is the EVA-MARINA Hotel. Set amongst many kinds of flowers, colorfull bougainvilleas and tropical trees, in a peaceful and hospitable environment we wait you in order to spend your holidays.
The category of the Hotel is C and it provides reception, safe box, sitting room, a small sitting room with a TV and a dinning room. You can enjoy your breakfast outside in the garden, under the shadow that jasmine provides for you. Also in the garden you will find our café-bar.

Every room has its own bathroom with a bath-tub, air-condition, telephone, music and balcony. All the rooms are spacious, with a view to our garden.

In the area around there are other beaches, like the Red Beach with dark blue sea water and red sand and its 20 minutes far from our hotel. Also there is the beach of Komos, which is half an hour far from our hotel (by foot). Very close to our hotel there are restaurants, super market and cafeterias.

The owner and the staff speak German and English and they can help you for whatever you may need.
